I started Mane Attraction in 1991 with a goal to provide great service in a friendly and welcoming environment, and it continues to be my goal to this day. Making people happy makes me happy! By listening and assessing my guests’ personal style I work to find a look that suits them. Continuing education is a high priority to me, and I like to be on trend. Although I am most interested in a style that has balance, I work with an individual’s hair type that suits his or her lifestyle. The power to transform through the use of color, haircutting and permanent makeup is what keeps me energized and excited about my business.
In 1996 I began my training for Permanent Makeup and was immediately hooked. I was fortunate enough to learn from the top artists in the industry at the time and I continue to seek out education on new techniques in this evolving field.

Originally from the East Coast, my training began in the Bay Area, which eventually led me to beautiful Truckee 16 years ago. As a hairstylist for the past 35 years I have grown to love my profession more and more. What other profession is there where your job is to make people feel pampered and look great? My clients love my consistency in providing a precise haircut or a perfectly executed color. They always leave feeling great, whether we are doing something tried and true or something totally new. I have had the opportunity to travel to New York to train at Bumble and Bumble as well as Living Proof in Boston. I enjoy long walks along the river with my two dogs and my hubby, or just hanging out with my son and daughter. Gardening is my other passion, there is such pleasure in nurturing plants and seeing them grow.
Born and raised in Southern California, my husband Kevin and I moved to Truckee in 2015. Our love of skiing and boating as well as the sense of community are what attracted us to the area. I have been a stylist for 30+ years and have never loved this profession more than I do now. Staying up to date on trends, styles and continuing education is extremely important! I feel so blessed to work in such a wonderful salon and to live in this beautiful town. I enjoy creating shape and form as well as color and texture. You can expect to be pampered during an appointment with me in the following ways – I will greet and sit down with you for a thorough consultation. I will consider your likes and dislikes about your hair, in the past and present as well as establish what your boundaries are regarding your hairstyle. Your shampoo service will include a relaxing scalp and neck massage. Once your service is complete you will feel relaxed and confident with your look. My name is Marley and I was born and raised right here in Truckee. I feel so blessed to work and live in such a beautiful town! Doing hair has always been a passion of mine, starting with my dolls as a child and then moving on to my friends and family throughout high school! I have grown to be extremely passionate about cutting hair in particular. I studied at the Paul Mitchell School where I received some of the best education our industry has to offer, and was given a solid foundation of knowledge. I’ve trained in Barbering with Derby Supply Co. and traveled to the headquarters of Living Proof in Boston for hair cutting techniques. I love creating a seamless blonde for all my highlighted beauties, and lovely curls ranging from a gorgeous spiral to a relaxed beachy wave with a perm. In my free time, I love serving in the youth group and on the worship team for Sierra Bible Church. I have the same passion and enthusiasm for hair that I had over 25 years ago when I started as a stylist! Originally from the Bay Area, I moved to North Tahoe and raised a family of three children. In the process I delightfully discovered my passion for hair. I attended the International Academy of Style in Reno (where I now work as a cosmetology instructor). I started as a hairstylist at the Balcony Salon in Tahoe City in the late nineties and became one of the last owners until it closed in 2019. I then started sharing my talents at Mane Attraction in Truckee where I found my new home for hair design. I have held continuing education as a priority throughout the years, attending many workshops for hair cutting and coloring techniques. I strongly believe in maintaining the integrity of the hair through all hair services and creating a design that suits my clients’ hair type and lifestyle. Forty-three years ago, I moved to the Truckee Tahoe area. I’ve been an esthetician at Mane Attraction for more than 20 years and continue to love learning about skincare. My specialties are sun damaged skin, anti-aging skincare, acne treatments and wanting to make people’s skin smooth and flawless. My inspiration is the love of making people feel better. You will leave relaxed and refreshed, and feeling better than you have in years after your skincare experience with me.
I have always wanted to live on a farm, so eight years ago along with my husband we moved to Calpine where we have chickens, goats and a mini pony. We have two grown daughters and two young granddaughters. I enjoy hiking, biking, gardening and exploring the outdoors. I also make wonderful goat milk soaps, available at the salon.
In 1995, I started my esthetics education and career in Boulder, Colorado. Since then, I’ve gained a wide breadth of experience by working at various salons, including Bella Lago in Truckee, Essentials Day Spa in Boulder, and Renovation Medical Spa in Reno. For the past 2 years, I have been providing services to the Truckee/North Tahoe community at Mane Attraction, bringing education, safe and effective skincare, and customized treatments. I am best known for my warm and relaxing touch that enables clients to settle in and unwind, whether they are melting into a facial or receiving a waxing service. I am a perfectionist by nature and intend to bring that trait to every session and service I provide. Since joining Mane Attraction I’ve recognized the good energy amongst the team and how that translates to my client care. I love working at the salon! I also enjoy family time, cooking, and getting outdoors in the fresh air for long hikes.
